I was invited to participate in a collective exhibit along with other members of the Focus Group - a gathering of Sacramento photographers - at the Beatnik Studios and Gallery. I chose to display four images from "Retratos no Mercado," a series of portraits I created this past June in my hometown of Fortaleza, CE Brasil. This project came when I was asked to photograph the city's oldest market from my own point of view. I was immediately drawn to the butchers.
The editor of Our Wedding Magazine selected my images of the wedding of Lauren and Tom Muscatine to be profiled in the "local affair" section of the Fall/Winter 2008 issue. Lauren and Tom married on September 1st 2007 at Tom's family vineyard in Napa. I am happy to know Lauren has just given birth to their first child, the lovely Lavender.
This delightful pair chose Lake Tahoe as the backdrop for their wedding day. October 27th was was a perfect day and we all enjoyed ourselves in this flip flop California day. The light was absolutely amazing!
Singer Justin Timberlake, a personal friend of Nra and Marty, delivered a belly-laughing speech.
Nra and Marty met while working on a music video for their friend Justin Timberlake. For their wedding day this stunning pair chose the picturesque charm of the Four Seasons Hotel for the preparations and the cozy elegance of Calamigos Ranch for the celebrations. Nra’s striking vintage silk dress and Marty’s classic bowtie tuxedo brought the glamour of old Hollywood to this modern Los Angeles affair. Surrounded by the warmth of their friends and family, the exquisite couple professed their love to each other under a historic oak tree while two friends recorded everything on film using retro super 8 cameras.
They celebrated under a tent minutely decorated with an array of delicate effects from Nra’s personal collection of vintage broaches, antique candelabra and flower vases. Surrounded by beautiful, history-filled objects, guests delighted in laughter during the side-splitting speeches offered by the couple’s closest friends. What followed was a smashing party attended by some of Hollywood’s most renowned icons. One of my favorite wedding memories took place that night, when Nra’s grandmother, walker in hands, brought fire to the dance floor.
